SAMVEDNA MEDICAL CAMP 6
- Mayali, Rudraprayag -

Sixth camp held in Mayali on 5th November 2006 . Mr. Mathbaar Singh Kandari, BJP MLA, (Local Member of Parliament and Leader of the Opposition in Uttaranchal State Parliament) was the Chief Guest. In addition Dr. D. L. Shah – Orthopedic Surgeon & Chief Medical Superintendent, Tehri District and Dr. Atul Alok, Pediatrician former professor in AIIMS, New Delhi + 2 doctors from the local government hospital (General Physician and Gynecologists). Dr. Rajnish Singh was there as usual.

Jasdai was identified for treatment in earlier camp. She was operated and is recovering. She visited Samvedna Camp 6 for follow-up.

In the camp approximately 260 patients were checked. Free medicines were also distributed courtesy Dr. Rajnish and his wife and a few other doctor friends.People came from villages as far as 50 kms. These villages are from the belts of Kotbangar, Lasia, Chirbitia, Bajra and Silgarh. Mr. Kandari deeply appreciated the work being done through Samvedna.

The Special Needs Center at Tilwara, Rudraprayag, center continues to provide a point for referrals, advice and follow-up for the people of the district. 6 children with special needs are regularly coming to the center and their rehabilitation is being facilitated by the volunteers. There are many children who can benefit from the center but physical distance and lack of adequate and regular transportation makes it very difficult for them to come.
